Wondering how to talk to your lawmakers about health freedom? Our how-to video makes it easy!
During 2020, Americans have witnessed first-hand how crucial it is to be represented by lawmakers who implement good public policies. Very simply, this means that we need public servants who strive to solve public problems effectively and support policies that reflect the interests of their constituents, including upholding their constitutional rights.
Trusting your officials to implement good public policy is paramount to protecting your democracy, your freedom and your family’s future. However, with the current assault on human rights, religious rights and parental rights, it’s more important than ever to ensure that your lawmakers are enacting policies that are in your best interest and uphold your rights.
Each year, the pharmaceutical industry spends nearly $300 million on lobbying and tens of billions on advertising, marketing and influencing stakeholder groups; its reach is pervasive. As a result of this influence, lawmakers are increasingly focused on dictating what medical interventions you and your family must receive. They are also aggressively working to remove parental rights and redefine the parent-child relationship by giving the state the authority to make healthcare decisions for children (and, in some instances, hiding those decisions from the children’s parents).
That’s why it’s crucial to take a stand and make sure that your lawmakers represent your interests — not those of industry! You cannot let the voices of special interest groups be the only voices that shape the laws of your city, state and country. Your voice matters, and the only way to make a difference is by using it to advocate for the issues you care about.
“If you haven’t shared your health freedom concerns or other important information with your lawmakers, you can assume they are unaware of the concerns and don’t know the information.”
Even in the age of Zoom meetings, nothing is more effective than face-to-face communication. So we urge you to set up a meeting with your public officials now. This might seem daunting to some people, but meeting with your lawmakers is actually a fairly simple process. Please watch this brief video with our executive director and co-founder Leah Wilson and Mo van Hoek, co-president of Health Freedom Florida. They discuss how to build a relationship with your government officials and how to talk to them about health freedom. Leah and Mo will outline the steps you need to take, from figuring out how to set up the meeting to what you should do afterward.
In the meantime, remember that the most powerful voice belongs to the individual constituent. That’s you.
