What health care can minors consent to on their own?
Any minor who is 14 years of age or older and not in the physical custody of a parent or legal guardian may consent to and receive medical, dental, or behavioral health care without the consent of a parent or guardian. The minor must provide one of several possible forms of acceptable documentation demonstrating that they are an unaccompanied homeless minor.
Any minor who is 14 years of age or older may consent to and receive examination or treatment for a sexually transmitted disease or substance use disorder without the consent of a parent or guardian.
