Missouri: Clear Skies, Clear Answers
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
-
Right now, there’s no clear way for Missourians to know if chemicals are being released into the air or who is responsible if something goes wrong. When activities like weather modification happen without transparency, it creates real concerns about how they could affect our farms, our air, our water, and our health. Missouri law currently does not require disclosure or financial responsibility if environmental damage occurs, leaving communities in the dark and unprotected.
-
SB 860 makes weather modification unlawful in Missouri, the bill requires anyone proposing to release chemicals into the atmosphere to disclose what they’re deploying to the Department of Natural Resources and the bill strengthens oversight by adding weather-knowledgeable members to environmental boards. Lastly it also requires the Department to establish reporting and investigation procedures and can pursue civil actions for violations.

ACTION: Contact the Senate Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources Committee to tell them you support SB 860 because Missourians deserve transparency, environmental accountability, and clear rules on atmospheric activities. After you email and call, we need you to show up on Thursday!

Room: SCR 1 — 1st Floor, Missouri State Capitol - We need Missouri citizens to attend and simply say “I’m here in support of this bill”. Even if that’s all they say, it makes a difference. Or simply come and be seen. We need to turn out! This Ag committee will be against us from the start! Let’s show them how we feel about this issue!
