Water should hydrate not medicate
SUPPORT THE REMOVAL OF FLUORIDE IN FLORIDA’S FARM BILL
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
-
After careful review and consultation with legal experts and allies in our movement, we support the passage of SB 700 / HB651 as written. While we submitted an amendment to clarify the water additive section, and both bill sponsors acknowledged receipt, it has not yet been filed in either chamber. We will continue working to advance this amendment in committee, but we believe the bill remains worthy of support in its current form.
-
The water additive provisions in SB 700 / HB 651 align with our commitment to ensuring that water hydrates—not medicates. This section takes an important step toward greater transparency and accountability regarding substances added to public water supplies, including fluoride.
-
For too long, concerns about the health risks of fluoride have been ignored despite growing scientific evidence questioning its safety. Strengthening oversight of water additives through this bill will help prioritize informed decision-making and protect public health.
-
We urge legislators to support and uphold the water additive provisions in SB 700 / HB 651 and ensure that any future amendments continue to reinforce transparency, safety, and the right of Floridians to know what’s in their water.
