Support SB 1270/HB1299: Strengthening Patient Rights and Health Freedom protections in Florida
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
Updated 4/22/25
- UPDATE! SB1270 and HB1299 will both be heard on the Senate and House floor, as they have both passed their respective committees. If you have a story of being denied service, would you please delete our “pre written email” and put your story in there? You legislators need to hear stories of denied care. We are also capturing stories here on a mass scale to send to every legislator, so your story will make a big impact!
- Please note there are two forms one for the Senate bill and one for the House. Please copy/paste what you write in one form, to the other, thank you!
- SB 1270 and HB1299 are the two identical bills Governor DeSantis promised in early March and these bills echo the bills Health Freedom Florida had tried to pass for the last 5 years. They are a vital piece of legislation that strengthen individual rights and protections in Florida. This bill preserves Florida’s commitment to health freedom by:
- Ensuring that no one can be forced into a vaccine mandate by employers, schools, or government entities, preserving the autonomy of all Floridians, especially parents making decisions for their children.
- Vaccine status protections, promoting fairness and freedom of choice in our communities and clinics.
- Protecting Against Forced Masking and Testing – Ensures that individuals cannot be subjected to mask mandates or compulsory medical testing as a condition of employment, education, or public participation, safeguarding personal health autonomy and informed consent.
- Maintaining the legal definition of mRNA vaccines, ensuring that Floridians continue to have transparency and informed choice regarding their healthcare decisions.
- SB 1270 and HB1299 supports both Florida’s Parents’ Bill of Rights and Patient Bill of Rights, ensuring that personal health choices are respected. It upholds fundamental rights to privacy, freedom, and informed consent, and I encourage all Florida legislators to vote in favor of this important bill.
- ACTION: Contact the Health Committee in the Senate and ask them to support this bill as it’s being heard at 1:30pm on April 1st, 2025 (412 Knott Building). If you can attend and testify in support of the bill, we would love to have you there!
