GEORGIA: The vaccine passport ban heads to the House floor; quick action needed now
SB1 will repeal the sunset clause and permanently prohibit vaccine passports for government entities.
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
- Huge news Georgia: SB1 has already passed out of the House Rules Committee and is headed to the House floor. Thank you for your fast action over the weekend to help move the bill! A vote is scheduled to happen tomorrow on in the House. Please contact your State House Representative today and ask them to vote yes.
- SB1 is a priority bill for Georgia Coalition for Vaccine Choice. It prohibits state and local government agencies from requiring proof of COVID vaccination. The current law has an expiration date of June 30, 2023. This bill will remove the expiration date and make the law permanent. We need mass action on this bill to see it pass this legislative session.
- SB1 is the only thing preventing the Georgia Department of Public Health from requiring COVID vaccines for schoolchildren. Without this bill, our state colleges can require the vaccine, as well.
