IOWA! NO FORCED MEDICINE: Mandate policy must include exemption information
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
- Have you heard the mantra, “no shots, no school?” Some schools across the state of Iowa have not been forthcoming with the existence of exemptions (religious and medical) when speaking to the current vaccine requirements.
- Parents have the right to know that exemptions exist, period.
- This bill improves transparency of current Iowa law and prevents medical coercion that schools and departments are currently practicing by not fully disclosing the law.
- This will bring clarity to parents and decrease the amount of work school nurses will have to do in providing provisional exemptions until kids turn in their paperwork by having them knowledgeable about their options on the front end.
- ACTION: Tell committee members that exemption information must be stated along with shot requirements
