Illinois: Transfusion transparency
Click to support donor mRNA vaccine disclosure bill
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
- If you or your child needed a blood transfusion, wouldn’t you want to know if the blood donor had ever been injected with an experimental mRNA shot?
- Representative Jed Davis filed HB4243, “constituent-driven” legislation that “[a]mends the Illinois Clinical Laboratory and Blood Bank Act.” This bill also “requires a blood bank to test or have tested donated blood for evidence of any COVID-19 vaccine and any other messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccine components, and requires a blood donor to disclose during each blood donor screening process whether the blood donor has received a COVID-19 vaccine or any other mRNA vaccine during the donor’s lifetime.”
- HB4243 is not a bill about the risks and benefits of mRNA vaccines, but rather about transparency and providing informed choice for the recipient of donor blood.
- Davis said in a recent Stand for Health Freedom interview that he filed HB4243 “so that you as a recipient of medical care can select what blood goes into your body. I don’t know why anyone would be against that. Why would you not allow people to determine what they are putting into their own self?”
