URGENT GEORGIA: The Medical Freedom Act needs a hearing to survive this session
HB266 must have a hearing by Monday, March 6, in order to stay on track to pass.
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
- House Bill 266, the Medical Freedom Act, is a bill that, if passed, would restore the freedom of Georgians to make their own health decisions. This bill is in the Public Health Committee and thus far has been denied a hearing by Committee Chairman Sharon Cooper.
- Georgia needs this bill to pass to repeal the authority of the Department of Public Health and all county boards of health to require persons to submit to vaccinations.
- HB266 also prohibits state or local government entities from requiring individuals to submit to vaccinations or to prove post-infection recovery, or from issuing immunization passports.
- Not only does it prohibit vaccine mandates, but it also prohibits state or local government entities and businesses or proof of vaccination.
- Time is quickly running out. If we don’t have a hearing before March 6, the bill will not cross over and will be considered dead. We need mass action now, Georgia! Please email Committee Chair Sharon Cooper and ask her to get a hearing on this bill. And after emailing, please call her office and let your voice be heard.
