South Carolina: Click to urge lawmakers to support the State Healthcare Facility Licensure Act
S164 repeals Certificate of Need requirements in South Carolina. The government has no right to limit South Carolinians’ access to healthcare.
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
- The House Committee on Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs (3M Committee) is meeting on April 18, 2023 to discuss S164. Please let them know you support this Bill. The committee needs to vote YES on S164 which eliminates Certificate of Need (CON) requirements in SC.
- Certificate of Need (CON) requirements are a problem because they limit access to health care, driving up the cost and stifling competition among providers.
- Repealing these requirements in South Carolina will improve access to healthcare, open the door for businesses that align with medical freedom, and support transparency. It will also promote competition between providers, leading to better care at a lower cost.
- Take action today to urge your legislators to support S164: the State Health Facility Licensure Act.
