What is the process to get a religious exemption in your state?
Submit a written statement to the school signed by a parent that the parent is an adherent of a religious denomination whose teachings are opposed to immunizations.
As a reminder, sometimes too much information about your religious beliefs can give them reasons to deny your request, it can be as simple as this: My child, (child’s name), is an adherent of a religious denomination whose religious teachings are opposed to vaccinations and/or inoculations.
The parent must sign and date the document and then submit to the school.
Who can add vaccines to the state's childhood schedule, the department of health or the legislature?
Secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
What health care can minors consent to on their own?
Any minor 16 years of age or older with no parent or guardian immediately available may give consent to hospital, medical, or surgical treatment or procedures. The consent of a parent or guardian is not necessary.
