Burt Jones for Georgia Lieutenant Governor

“Mandating masks in our public schools cannot and should not be allowed in our state,” said Georgia State Senator Burt Jones in August 2021. “Instead, parents should have the flexibility to make that decision for their child. Such mandates are not based on scientific data, will have significant long-term effects on our children’s educational development, and will be an overwhelming and unnecessary burden on our teachers and parents who have already endured so much over the past year and a half.”

A sixth-generation Jackson native running for lieutenant governor, Jones works with his family’s business, Jones Petroleum, as an integral part of growing the diverse, multi-faceted company, employing nearly 2,000 Georgians. He also founded JP Capital & Insurance, Inc., a risk-management company specializing in retail insurance brokerage.
