Louisiana: No Exemption Discrimination!
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
Updated April 24th
- UPDATE! Send a message to your state representative and ask them to vote YES on HB908!. Let’s prevent our children from being treated differently because of a medical intervention they may not have undergone.
- HB908 by Rep Beryl Amedee will prohibit discrimination at school based on a child’s vaccination status.
- During covid, students across the state experienced discrimination based on their vaccination status at school in all the ways listed in the prohibited acts including eligibility for athletics or other extracurricular activity, allowing or denying participation inside and outside the classroom, issuance of surveys to students relative to vaccination status, and organizing seating charts based on the child’s vaccination status.
- Students are under enough pressure at school that they should not have to worry about being treated differently based on a medical decision that they have no say in.
