GEORGIA: Stop the vaccine passport ban from expiring
SB1 will repeal the sunset clause and permanently prohibit vaccine passports for government entities.
Our Stand: At-A-Glance
- SB1 is a priority bill for Georgia Coalition for Vaccine Choice. It prohibits state and local government agencies from requiring proof of COVID vaccination. The current law has an expiration date of June 30, 2023. This bill will remove the expiration date and make the law permanent.
- SB1 is the only thing preventing the Georgia Department of Public Health from requiring COVID vaccines for schoolchildren. Without this bill, our state colleges can require the vaccine, as well.
- The bill has landed in the House Public Health Committee. Please email your state House Rep and urge them to ask the committee chair, Sharon Cooper, to give this bill a hearing.
- After emailing, we are asking Georgia advocates to also call the committee chair, Representative Sharon Cooper, at 404-656-5069 and urge her to give SB1 a hearing.
