ACT NOW INDIANA: Tell our reps no more delaying.

The crisis is over! End Governor’s Holcomb’s public emergency!

Our Stand

  • Since declaring a state of health emergency March 6, 2020, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has been acting outside of the authority granted to him by the state’s constitution. He has abused his authority by not only keeping Hoosiers in a continued state of emergency, but by implementing various orders that carry fines and penalties under the law when he has no legal authority to do so.
  • Governor Holcomb has renewed the state of emergency into a second year. HCR18, authored by Rep. J. D. Prescott, would end the emergency. It is our state legislature’s job to step in when a governor oversteps with his emergency powers. We are asking them to take those steps now. The crisis is over. Hospitalization rates are now a fifth of what they were, and herd immunity is essentially here.
  • The costs of this emergency are already too high, with the closure of stores, limitations on business, delayed diagnosis, rising overdoses, suicide, domestic violence, unemployment and the loss of our social connections.
  • The quickest and surest way to lift restrictions in Indiana is to kill the emergency. We must rescind the mask mandate and drop virus regulations on businesses. Until we do so, we won’t get rid of the fear looming over society.
  • House leadership is unwilling to support ending the emergency because Indiana will lose access to federal dollars. But, federal funding comes at a cost, too — including financial dependence, government red tape and the wasting of taxpayer dollars. It gives the government continued power to choose the winners and the losers.
  • And if a state of emergency stays in place, new restrictions can be imposed on Hoosiers any time. This emergency can’t go on. It is too damaging and denies us our natural rights. It is time for the legislature to return power to the people.
  • We’re urging all Hoosiers to stand up for their rights to live without government restrictions after a year-long state of emergency! Click now to send a pre-drafted, customizable email to Indiana House and Senate leadership, as well as your local representatives, and tell them to pass HCR18 today. No more delays!

Governor Holcomb has renewed the state of emergency into a second year. HCR18, authored by Rep. J. D. Prescott, would end the emergency and thereby cancel mask mandates and government-imposed social and business restrictions . It is our state legislature’s job to step in when a governor oversteps. We are asking our lawmakers to take those steps now. The crisis is over. Hospitalization rates have dropped to about a fifth of what they were, and herd immunity is essentially here.

It gives the government even more power to choose the winners and the losers
