Canadian scientists and doctors face censorship, slander, and intimidation

Our Stand

  • There are grave concerns with how the Canadian government has responded to COVID-19, the imposition of unwarranted measures, and the violation of constitutionally-protected rights and freedoms.
  • Ontario MP Derek Sloan stated that when doctors and scientists ask questions about these measures, they are intimidated, slandered, and censored.
  • Sloan issued a call for whistleblowers—doctors, nurses, and medical scientists—and received many “shocking” stories with one unifying factor: none of the stories are being told in media, which is misleading and unethical.
  • On April 30, 2021, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) explicitly stated that it is the professional responsibility of all physicians not to communicate anti-vaccine, anti-masking, anti-distancing, and anti-lockdown statements and/or promote unsupported, “unproven” treatments for COVID-19. If they did, they were threatened with investigation and discipline.
  • The attempt to intimidate doctors and scientists has had an opposite effect: many are coming forth, fully galvanized against regressive authoritarian overreach of CPSO and other governing bodies.
  • This intimidation and overreaching must stop. According to MP Derek Sloan, “Many people at high levels across the federal and providential governments are misleading the public and the media must now hold these officials accountable for their lack of transparency and honesty on these matters.”
  • Canadians, it’s time to stand united and fight for our constitutionally-protected rights. Call-To-Action

Canadian doctors are being intimidated into silence and important health information is being censored

Canadian politician, MP Derek Sloan, recently held a news conference on Parliament Hill to address the serious concerns around censorship, intimidation, and slandering of doctors and scientists, including warranted apprehension about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Sloan bravely issued a call for whistleblowers—doctors, nurses, and medical scientists—and received many “shocking” stories with one unifying factor: none of them are being told in media.

There were already grave concerns about how the Canadian government has responded to COVID-19 and the restriction of constitutionally-protected rights: unending lockdowns, withholding of informed consent, excessive measures against small businesses, and the ensuing cascade of mental health issues.

Parliament is about speaking the truth and addressing the needs of the people and according to Sloan, “Many people at high levels across the federal and providential governments are misleading the public and the media must now hold these officials accountable for their lack of transparency and honesty on these matters.”

To make matters worse, on April 30, 2021, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), whose purpose is to protect the public and not stifle legit scientific inquiry, threatened investigation and discipline upon any doctor who asked legitimate scientific questions about the narrative, stating that it’s the professional responsibility of all physicians not to communicate anti-vaccine, anti-masking, anti-distancing, and anti-lockdown statements and/or promote unsupported, “unproven” treatments for COVID-19.

Doctors speak out anyway
Sloan gathered three doctors and medical professionals for the news conference. One of those doctors was vaccinologist Dr. Byram Bridle, who’s faced an intense smear campaign as a result of sharing findings about the link between the COVID-19 vaccine and heart inflammation.

Dr. Bridle stated that based on this link (as confirmed by scientific literature and Pfizer reports to regulatory agencies), the vaccine formulation being administered hasn’t been properly evaluated and that it’s no longer acceptable to proceed based on assumptions. He said, “We were told there would be no shortcuts. There have been shortcuts.”

He continued, “Mass vaccination of millions of healthy Canadian children demands that the safety profile has to be exceptionally high.”

Family physician, Patrick Phillips, MD, has been outspoken about the “massive” harms from the lockdowns, including suicidal children, and said that he couldn’t live with himself if he didn’t speak out.

He’s also been forthright about safe and effective treatments for COVID-19, including Vitamin D, which the Canadian health minister dubbed “fake news,” even though 85 studies (much of it in peer-reviewed scientific literature) and 27 treatment trials revealed a 56% reduction in morality in patients who take Vitamin D.

He’s been “shouting from the rooftops” about the benefits of Ivermectin in treating COVID-19, for which there are 97 studies and over 30 randomized control trials showing a huge impact in reducing death and hospitalization. Ivermectin can also be used prophylactically for preventing COVID-19.

The scientist who discovered Ivermectin received a Nobel prize for his discovery because of Ivermectin’s excellent safety profile and broad spectrum of activity. Ivermectin is catalogued by the World Health Organization as an essential medicine. Tragically, Ivermectin is being withheld from Canadians for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

Dr. Phillips stated, “Lives are being lost.” And, “There are bigger things going on than my medical career.”

Accepting mistakes

Dr. Donald Welsh aptly quoted physicist Richard Feynman, saying, “If you don’t make mistakes, you’re doing it wrong. And if you don’t correct those mistakes, you’re doing it really wrong. And if you can’t accept you’re mistaken, then you’re not doing it all.”

Dr. Welsh proclaimed that this mixing of politics and medicine is unprecedented, that he’s never seen this level of censorship, and that there is an “avalanche of data” in favor of alternative treatments for COVID-19.

Scientists are taught to be skeptical and Dr. Welsh states, “No one or no institution can ever proclaim to be an oracle in science. We uncover the truth through debate that is boisterous and sometimes unpleasant. But when reasoning is combined with transparency, science moves society forward in a productive manner.”

The voices of physicians and scientists need to be heard

Deep engagement and public debate are underpinnings of science and hallmarks of a Democratic society. These courageous doctors, including MP Sloan, are standing for truth, no matter the cost. And while the attempts to intimidate doctors and scientists has many of them afraid of losing their jobs and licenses, for others, it’s clearly had an opposite effect. They’re coming forth, fully galvanized against regressive authoritarian overreach.

Canadians, it’s time to stand united and fight for our constitutionally-protected rights.
