ACT NOW CANADA: Tell your elected officials that COVID-19 vaccines must be voluntary!

Personal choice, not public pressure or coercion, must be the only factor in getting the vaccine.

Our Stand

  • With round-the-clock media coverage of coronavirus, there is a strong and growing push for Canadians to widely accept the impending COVID-19 vaccine — even though the vaccine is experimental and has known safety concerns.
  • Amidst intense public pressure from government and community leaders, there are many people asking, “Will I be forced to get the COVID-19 vaccine?” There are myriad reasons why someone might choose to decline the vaccine. Among the most common are conscientious objections, religious convictions, a history of prior vaccine injury and concerns over safety, including the speed with which the vaccine is being developed and the lack of long-term safety data.
  • Looking across the border, many US state legislators have drafted COVID-19 vaccination plans that utilize tracking systems, outline incentives to ensure maximum uptake of the vaccine, and as in Canada, identify priority populations to receive the vaccine.  In the US, a July 2020 Johns Hopkins University report urges local and state public health agencies to explore bundling vaccination with other safety net services. “Bundling services (e.g., food security, rent assistance, free clinic services) that are already being provided to particularly vulnerable populations in the context of COVID (e.g., older adults, low-income adults, Black and minority communities) could be a way to build trust and streamline vaccine provision,” the report says. Rumors are that in Canada, thought leaders are considering similar pressures directed to disadvantaged community groups.
  • Such programs have not yet appeared on the Canadian Radar screen.  However, it is highly probable that Provincial and Federal political groups and agencies could be pressured to follow the US  and other commonwealth country efforts.   Ultimately these policies would result in the denial of crucial services for those who choose to opt out of the vaccine, thereby stripping individuals of any opportunity to make this medical decision for themselves. Even if the COVID-19 vaccine is not yet mandated, some provinces could choose to limit the privileges of those who can’t supply proof of vaccination. This, experts say, is a violation of human rights and constitutional rights — especially since much of the population is not at risk from harm from COVID but could easily experience harm from the fast-tracked, experimental vaccine.
  • Presently under Canadian law, vaccinations remain voluntary.  Also, vaccinations can not be a condition of work in most instances.  In past vaccine campaigns, we have witnessed medical students and staff including nurses being coerced to get vaccinated or loose their jobs or education rights. Nevertheless, Canadians should remain vigilant as the pressure on governments to implement mandatory Covid Vaccines are expected to increase worldwide.  Isn’t it interesting that according to the CDC’s and Health Canada’s own data, most people have greater than a 97 percent chance of surviving COVID. In fact, for those under 70, the survivability rate among those infected ranges from 99.5 percent to 99.9 percent. Moreover, the COVID-19 vaccine is not expected to prevent transmission; it’s merely supposed to lessen symptoms. As such, there is no basis upon which to require the vaccine; it’s up to each person to decide how to care for their own body based on their own judgment and unique physiology.
  • It is unethical and immoral to mandate an experimental vaccine that has known safety concerns and for which there is no liability.  In Canada as in just about all countries, the Drug Companies bear no liabilities for damages done by the approved vaccines.  Only Quebec has a Vaccine Injury program.  The federal government is now expressing their desires to have a Covid vaccine injury compensation plan.  In Canada, vaccine damages are absorbed by the National Public Health program, in other words, the Taxpayers.  It however does not compensate for the many other costly hardships born by the families of vaccine damaged children or adults.  Lawsuits can be launched but due to their very high costs, and low probabilities of success, most families will not risk the efforts.  In effect, no one manufacturing or mandating the vaccines will bear responsibility if you or your family is harmed by the procedure. Lastly, for those with deeply held religious beliefs (or who lead a pharmaceutical-free life), vaccination violates their convictions to abide by natural law and to walk in faith, not fear.

Top Five Reasons The Coronavirus Vaccine Must Be Voluntary

Call to Action

Do we want this in Canada?  We must remain vigilant!

In May, the New York State Bar Association issued an 83-page report calling for mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for all Americans; the only exception, the association said, would be doctor-ordered medical reasons. The association — one of the nation’s largest state bar groups — joins a growing number of organizations, government leaders and corporations voicing support for mandating a COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available. Even large entertainment companies like Ticketmaster have announced future plans to require patrons to show proof of vaccination before they’re permitted to attend music, sporting and other events.

Despite positive headlines about the success of some COVID-19 trials, there are numerous issues with bringing the vaccine to market at warp speed. Most notably, vaccine manufacturers cannot ensure the long-term safety of any COVID vaccine since the products have had months of clinical observation at best. First-generation pharmaceutical products are also notorious for unintended side effects such as birth defects found with the drug thalidomide or antibody dependent enhancement seen with the dengue vaccine. This is a phenomenon where subjects who receive a vaccine for a virus become significantly more ill when they’re exposed to that virus in the wild. (In other words, rather than the vaccine offering protection, it actually causes them to get extremely sick or die.)

During standard clinical trials of any new vaccine, scientists are required to first test the vaccine on animals to determine its safety and effectiveness. Only after surviving repeated tests in animal models can a candidate vaccine be tested in human trials. However, in a race to bring a coronavirus vaccine to market, some coronavirus vaccines under development have completely bypassed animal trials, and others overlapped tests instead of doing them sequentially. Biomedical ethicists and others in the scientific community say such shortcuts eliminate important safety measures.

Additionally, two of the COVID-19 vaccine frontrunners utilize mRNA technology, yet mRNA vaccines are clinically unproven. No mRNA products have ever been approved for commercial use, and there is much that is not understood about the technology, including how it might affect your DNA and what the side effects will be over the long-term.

According to Health Canada and the US CDC’s own data, most people have greater than a 97 percent chance of surviving COVID-19. In fact, for people under the age of 70, the survivability rate after infection ranges from 99.5 percent to 99.9 percent. Moreover, the COVID-19 vaccine is not supposed to prevent transmission; it’s merely supposed to lessen symptoms. Given the above — and the fact that there are a variety of preventative measures for coronavirus as well as treatments that have been successfully used by healthcare clinicians around the world — there is no basis upon which to require the vaccine.

Vaccination is one approach to dealing with a virus such as COVID-19. It is not the only approach. It is up to each individual to decide how to care for their body based on their own judgment and unique physiology. Individuals should not be asked to cast aside their own convictions (be it personal, ethical or religious) to follow the advice of public health officials whose policies are shaped and influenced by the multibillion-dollar pharmaceutical industry.

It’s no secret that the pharmaceutical industry stands to make unprecedented profit from vaccines for COVID-19, which has created an entirely new investment pipeline with a captured market. That market —which is supported by Canadian taxpayer dollars and stands to increase exponentially if the COVID-19 vaccine is made mandatory.

It is unethical and immoral to mandate an experimental vaccine that has known safety concerns and for which there is no near liability held by the manufacture nor administrating medical personnel. Requiring individuals to get the vaccine in order to work, attend school, participate in their community, travel or enjoy other privileges is subjecting them to a medical intervention through coercion, which violates their informed consent. Such subjugations also violate individuals’ basic human rights, constitutional rights and religious rights.

As the financial stakes get higher and public pressure mounts for individuals to get the COVID-19 vaccine, what will you do when you are asked or told to get the vaccine? What if you have concerns? What if getting the vaccine violates your religious convictions or goes against your morals or better judgment? What if you or your child is at risk for an adverse reaction? What if you’re not at risk for COVID? Or what if you just feel like saying no?

Stand up for your basic human rights NOW! Every individual has the right to informed consent and to decline a medical intervention! Tell your Municipal, Provincial and Federal lawmakers that medical mandates don’t belong in a free society. Click below to send a pre-drafted (and customizable) email and tweet urging your officials to make the COVID-19 vaccine voluntary, not mandatory. Let them know that the only one who stands to profit from the coronavirus vaccine is the pharmaceutical industry — and that personal choice, not public pressure or coercion, must be the only factor in getting the vaccine.
